The VIBROPOMIAR Company is an engineering family business run by:
Jan MARASZEWSKI (Msc Eng) expert in vibration and noise of machines, technical diagnostics and power industry.
Witold MARASZEWSKI (Msc Eng) expert in vibration and noise of machines, heat engineering and mechanical working of steel.
Jan Marszewski (MSc Eng) is the owner of the Company which he established in 1984.
Since the very beginning the enterprise’s area of activity has been related to issues of mechanics and dynamics, as well as to the designing and manufacturing of machines, and the investigation of changes occurring in them in the course of operation.
For many years, the company has been mainly dealing with the measurement of vibration and vibroacoustic diagnoses for all kinds of facilities, especially turbo-machines including vertical bearing hydraulic machines. Experience acquired throughout many years, skilled personnel and back-up facilities make it possible for us to take up the most difficult challenges in this industry. We carry out research work in the field as well as in our in-house laboratory of vibration measurement. Each measurement case is stored in our database, making it easy for us to diagnose a given facility which we analysed in the past.
Here is a short history of the VIBROPOMIAR Company and its owner:
Activity in the area of vibration measurement and diagnosis of turbo-machines
I have been dealing professionally with the measurement of vibration and noise since 1970. At the beginning of the 70’s, in the Turbine Section of the ZPBE Energopomiar heat-generating plant I established and conducted the Laboratory of Turbo-Machines’ Vibration and Noises. In the laboratory vibrations of turbo-machines’ were measured and examined in respect of technical diagnosis for the purposes of repairs. I managed it until 1984.
Acting actively in the area of vibroacoustic, I improved my competence by completing postgraduate studies and doctoral studies at the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków. In that period I have carried out self-contained measurement and research work in the power engineering government department, and outside it in the area of the whole country. As a result, I have obtained the title of a TURBINE VIBRATION SPECIALIST. A number of interesting works done within the framework of a few hundred vibration measurement projects are presented below.
As a representative of the Gliwice section of the POLKARGO Enterprise, I have participated in commissionings, supervision, assembly and assessment of the technical condition of rotodynamic compressors brought for the MILMET Plant manufacturing rolling bearings in Sosnowiec. The WIROMET Plant in Mikołów has commissioned me to examine a prototype compressor in the Dolna Odra Electric Power Station in connection with recurring flaws of the gear transmission. My recommendations on changes required for the assembly technology have contributed to the elimination of these flaws. In the paper and Cellulose Plant of Kwidzyń I have carried out measurement and research work related to frequent flaws of multistage combined CENTAC compressors manufactured by the Ingersol Rand American Company. These flaws, each time they occurred, generated losses of tens of thousands of dollars. As a result of my work, the repeating flaws have been eliminated. I have co-operated with the Energoprojekt-Katowice Company on works aimed at reducing the level of vibrations in control stations of the Łagisza and Łaziska Electric Power Stations. The goal of the elimination of the increased level of vibrations was to improve the convenience of operation, as well as to eradicate causes due to which meter circuits mounted in the control stations were repeatedly put out. I have participated in the development and implementation of a new type of vibration insulators for coal ball-bearing pulverisers. These works were conducted in co-operation with the Energoprojekt-Warszawa Company. I have conducted work aimed at defining mutual influence of machines’ vibration on each other and on the structures of industrial halls. Within the framework of the works, I have eliminated the causes of excessive vibration which kept causing doctoral studies the ceilings of the Transport Equipment Plant in Krosno to crack. Similar tasks have been completed successfully by me in the BUMAR Plant in Łabędy.
In electric power stations tasks of that type have been related mainly to the dynamics of turbo sets’ foundations (for example Łagisza and Siekierki Electric Power Stations), turbine-driven pump’s foundations (the Bełchatów Electric Power Stations) and auxiliaries’ support construction (mainly fans of draughts and combustion gases). These works included issues of the mutual impacts of support structures’ dynamics and machines mounted on them. Tasks carried out in the Silesian pumping stations of potable water intakes should be classified as interesting projects in that field. A large number of devices mounted in wrong places and working within wrong range of rotational speed have induced rumble and critical conditions in which machines were operated.
As an expert in turbine vibrations I have been dealing with and I still deal with the problem of diagnosing the operating condition of turbines. I have conducted works related to the problem of vibration diagnostics of turbine sets in almost all electric commercial and industrial power stations. I have participated in the starting of newly-commissioned turbines in, for example, Łaziska, Ostrołęka, Rybnik, Kozienice, Łęg and Siekierki Electric Power Stations. In the years 1970 - 1985 I participated as a representative of the ZPBE Energopomiar-Gliwice Company in research works and commissions of steam turbine sets and auxiliary devices (turbine-driven pumps, electric pumps, compressors and fans) in all large thermal power stations, for example, the Turów, PAK, Kozienice and Bełchatów Thermal Power Stations.
Activity in the area of the water turbine and pump diagnostics
I have been measuring vibrations of water power plants since 1970. Dealing with the problems related to machines’ dynamics and vibrations, I have participated in commissions of water power plants as a representative of the power engineering governmental department in the Solina, Żydowo, Porąbka-Żar and Żarnowiec Hydro-electric Power Stations. In the years 1979 – 1982, I was a member of the power engineering government department’s emergency team eliminating flaws of bearings in the EW Porąbka-Żar Hydro-electric Power Station. I have been conducting research and measurement works in all large Hydro-electric Power Stations until today. Therefore, I am familiar with the dynamics of machines in the Solina - Myczkowce, Dychów, Żydowo, Porąbka-Żar, Żarnowiec, Koronowo, Włocławek, Dębe, Rożnów, Niedzica, Klimkówka, Dobczyce hydro-electric power stations. In many power stations, I have solved problems related to failures of machines and conditions preceding brake-downs: load bearing failure, guide bearing failure, shaft-bossing rupture, damage to the labyrinth seal, risk connected with to the change in the setting of the combinatorial interdependencies. The work I have done so far covers a much larger range of issues. Moreover, I also co-operate with the ESP S.A. within the field of dynamics and diagnostics of water power plants.
Activity in the area of insulation of machines against vibrations
Work in this field began as early as in 1970 and consisted in developing recommendations on an effective insulation of a control room against vibrations in the Łagisza and Łaziska Electric Power Stations. The vibrations transmitted from turbines and many auxiliary devices were influencing functioning of systems controlling the production process. The goal of the task was to minimise the vibration disrupting the proper work of devices installed in the control room. Other projects within that area were related to the co-operation with the Energoprojekt-Warszawa Company in 1977 and 1978 and aimed at developing a viscous damper to muffle the ball-bearing pulveriser. I have contributed to that project by examining and evaluating the results of the muffling of vibrations produced by pulverises mounted on the vibration insulators containing the viscous dampers.
Activity in the area of measurement of industrial buildings, steel structures’ vibrations and diagnostics of the flaws of devices installed on them
Influence of machines’ vibrations on those of the chimney – determination of vibration’s propagation path in the Pomorzany Electric Power Station. Influence of pulverisers’ vibrations on the turbine set’s foundation in the Siekierki Electric Power Station. Measurement of the dynamic condition of the fan cooler in the Elcho Electric Power Station for the purposes of modernisation. Examination of the dynamic condition of boilers’ support structures in the Turów Electric Power Station for the supplier of those boilers. Examination of the steel construction of shopping mall’s hall and minimisation of ceiling vibration in an industrial hall of a large plant of the armament industry.
I am experienced in research and measurement work. (For 15 years I have worked for the ZPBE Energopomiar-Gliwice Company where I have started and managed the first and only diagnostic laboratory at that time in the power engineering industry).
I am a member of the Polish Society for Technical Diagnostics, Polish Society of Tribology, Diagnostic Team of Machine Operation Section KMB at the Polish Academy of Sciences, Polish Society for Hydropower Plants, and I co-operate with many technical universities in Poland. Therefore, piaget replica watches if necessary, I am able to appoint a team consisting of the most eminent experts. For many years I have actively participated in science and technology conferences and written papers concerning the problems related to the diagnostics of water plant systems. In the VIBROPOMIAR Company I have established a modern diagnostic labIoratory of vibrations in which I successfully carry out many innovative research and measurement works. I hope that my long-standing experience will be used to solve your present and future problems
Activity in the area of the optimisation of fuel gas management in industrial plants
It is a new type of activity stemming form the necessity to develop a method for economising on gas in the course of aluminium smelting in crucible furnaces heated with natural gas. The introduction of a new solution produces tangible results in the form of savings amounting to hundreds of thousands of PLN.
Since the beginning of my activity, I have been using the state-of-the-art measuring equipment manufactured by the Brüel&Kjær Company. Over 37 years of work in the field of research and measurement activities related to power engineering have enabled me to become familiar with measuring techniques and evaluate technical condition of machines. This, as a result, helps me to extend their operating lives and periods between repairs. Currently I co-operate closely with the Brüel&Kjær Company on issues connected with the diagnostics of water turbines. My theoretical as well as practical knowledge makes it possible for me to carry out diagnostic work aimed at interpreting measurement results in respect of a failure-free operation of machines and the determination of repair periods.
Sincerely
Jan MARASZEWSKI
